Here is my second favorite hymn (with humanistic overtones), a most lovely prayer: also great when you just need to massage your mind with beauty and need a good cry. Thank you Eric Whitacre. The cell phones and even the movies have become stale. It's like my Soul is looking for something deeper and I see clearly that this mass hypnosis (AI, news addiction, etc.) is not enough infact too much automatic, over indulgence will make you feel off and unwell (well, I did download Pasolini's Oedipus Rex tonight.) I think the Italians definitely have the market cornered on both making beautiful art and unmatched cruelty when it comes to killing people (besides the NAZIS that is.) Pasolini was an openly queer poet, writer and film maker who loudly protested the Americanized state of Italian society that Italy was becoming after WW II. He reminded me a lot of Artaud's Theater of Cruelty. And now---we have B'way. An absolutely safe space ruled by T.V. stars. Capitalism rules. (period). Anyway I digress. Happy Holidays all and come for a fabulicious massage (while I'm still here!).
