Shooting the East Village! Heartbreaking! 4/29/2026

I had my bike repaired today by Jeff on E. 13th not half a block away from the site of the shooting. This is so heartbreaking. This beautiful father (28 y.o.) shoot by a prize "A-hole." Jeff was telling me the shooter was the neighborhood -hole: always picking fights with people and starting shit with everyone--obviously a mentally unhinged individual who refused to look into therapy or meds for the thing triggering him. It's a psycho-situation when a loose-cannon has a firearm and then decides to use use against the people who are allegedly wronging him: an insidious build-up happens, then the explosion.
The mayor even visited the site of the deli around 1 PM today. Another neighbor was telling me about the "Iron Pipeline" whereas states with very loose gun laws are able to transport firearms to NY without any problems. So because this is an interstate issue, the only solution is IF the Feds step in to pass laws to prevent the proliferation of firearms along this so called "underground railroad" of guns. Yeah--right...Our beloved DICK-tator of a president is gonna speak out and/or offer a solution to this huge problem. Dude-rich Republicans love it when the poor folks and working-class shoot themselves. They LOVE it! DICKTATOR TRUMP FIX ANYTHING???? NOT. He's too damn busy building ridiculous monuments, putting his face on passports (very ugly ornery pix I might add) and suing foes and people who oppose him. Dumbass. A president is supposed to protect his people, not make life impossible to live.
This is also a perfect example of how a large institution like NYU could utilize it's resources to create media coverage of an event that involves a neighborhood/and/or at the very least create some sort of neighborhood clinic for people to access for healthcare. Of course they won't! WHY? BECAUSE NYU is the epitome of a FOR - PROFIT educational institution: meaning make as much money as possible and Fuck everything else (number one being fuck the neighborhood.) Welcome to the New East Village. Unless you are a rich, entitled 3rd world person (Indian or Chinese)/student (or white with rich parents paying your way down here) you are fucked. This is certainly a scenario where democracy has failed miserably. All about the money, baby: all about the money. Ain't nothing else going on!
