THE HOPE OF BLUE...11-6-26
I am feeling so easy and at peace as an American tonight knowing that BLUE has come out so utterly victorious! As I watched the eloquent victory speech of El-Sayed a dear friend of mine and I both cried and were continually high-fiving! El-Sayed was riveting, hypnotic, inspirational. How heavenly to hear the words he spoke. Also (Not For Sale) Talarico, and Ossoff (oh the sheer beauty of hearing him speak with that lusciously articulating voice), not to mention Governor-elect Acton, Pappas from New Hampshire: the list goes on. The faces are glowing, smiling full of (yes I'll say it) LOVE and HOPE as opposed to the dour, crabby personas of Trump and his cronies. And so many of the messages are the same, healthcare, a movement away from big business, a return to the basics of government (yes) for by and of the People. Could it be, there IS a God? Could the American dream, the real one of freedom, equality, economic security, and health care for all be part of a new reality? Is it possible that we really are getting back to the basics? A silencing to ridiculous tariff wars, to disrespect and blatant racism; a stopping of nonsensical decrees (The Gulf of America?) that would be more at home in a Theater of the Absurd play than in the heart of Washington. Too long overdue. Can we get back to the fundamentals of how life can be lived in a place where just maybe democracy is revitalized. Suddenly I'm feeling hopeful again, a little less cynical and a little less browbeaten by the sheer artifice and plasticity of the MAGA movement. God Bless America for now, and for new!. Amen.
